Light, without which life itself is impossible, is the working medium and obsession of director Thomas

Riedelsheimer. Light, seen only in interaction with matter, allows us to explore the origin of the universe. In

Tracing Light, science and art interact to illuminate the birth of stars and secrets of the molecular world.

Einstein’s work on light changed our understanding of the world forever and revealed it as more complex

and magical than was thought. Now, at a radical moment in physics, we bring together leading scientists,

and artists who sculpt with light, across Scotland and Germany – from the Max Planck Institute at Erlangen,

    Synopsis:

The incredible story of when Formula came to the little village Anderstorp in Sweden between 1973 and 1978. It all happened because of one man’s wild dreams – Sven ”Smokey” Åsberg – nothing was impossible and all methods were allowed.

”The documentary contains all the elements of a classic documentary: a good script, good directing, good archival material, and, of course, added value: both in terms of the visualization and content, it is enhanced by a strong overall tone that permeates into the entire film: it is a combination of respectful humor, self-irony and wit. In general, the film explores how sport can influence social and economic change and analyzes the historical significance of Formula 1 in a specific time context.” 2025: Winner – International Sport Film Festival, Slovenia.

    Queer As Punk
    Queer As Punk

Synopsis : LGBT punk band “Shh…Diam!” boldly defies its name – Malay for “shut up!” – by shouting their truth to the world. Director Yihwen Chen chronicles the journey of this chosen family as they grow, spreading courage with wit, humour and irresistible charm. Queer as Punk invites audiences into the lives of band members Faris, Yon and Yoyo, capturing candid conversations during Malaysia’s shifting political landscape. The film delves into themes of self-expression, bodily transformation, love, parental expectations, anxiety and political participation, all set against the backdrop of a country that denies queer rights. Democracy, stifled by state-endorsed monopolies on religion, desire and identity, creates a suffocating environment. Amidst the challenges of “pink migration”, where many seek spaces to simply exist, collective care and camaraderie become essential lifelines. The Covid-19 pandemic adds another layer of hardship, yet the band perseveres, using their music and gigs to vent, flirt and share laughs. With their bold sound and infectious energy, “Shh…Diam!” will have you singing along in no time!

The Drift Queen is a high-octane documentary feature following Sandra Janušauskaitė — a fierce and resilient woman carving her path in the male-dominated world of professional drifting. Filmed across Europe — from Spain, Latvia, and Lithuania to Hungary, Germany, Estonia, Greece, and Cyprus — the film captures the sport’s intense physical and technical demands, along with the emotional and psychological toll it takes. Through Sandra’s eyes, we witness the grit behind the glamour: the podiums, the breakdowns, the comebacks, and the relentless pursuit of speed. It’s more than a racing story — it’s a raw, cinematic journey into passion, identity, and what it takes to lead in a world that rarely hands over the keys.

Director Q&A with Juozapas Mikulėnas live after the film.
